Diving tour: Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan, 5 or 7 days

The Gili islands are three idyllic small islands with splendid beaches west of Lombok. These islands are surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, with a wide variation of tropical reef fishes, turtles and sharks.

Gili Trawangan, the biggest of the three islands, is known as ‘the party island’ and attracts mainly young people. After diving, you can have fun every evening at one of the parties, or just relax with your friends.

Dive in and be fascinated by turtles, white tip reef sharks, cuttlefish, moray eels, angelfishes, ghost pipefish and more. It doesn’t matter how experienced you are, there will be the ideal dive site for you.

Day 1
Transfer airport - Gili Trawangan. You can either stay at a luxury resort, with a spacious garden, swimming pool and a spa, or at a more simple hotel, based in the middle of the nightlife centre of Gili Trawangan.

Day 2 - 4 or 2 - 6
Diving 3 or 5 days, 2 dives per day.

Day 5 or 7
Transfer Gili Trawangan - airport.

Dive sites around the Gilis

Shark Point consists of different levels (24m, 20m, 18m) of sandy areas with small coral blocks. The variety is enormous: schools of trevally, napoleon fish, white tip reef sharks, rays ribbon eels and even mantas.

Meno Wall goes down to 18m. It offers a lot of small coral fish. It is also called “Turtle Heaven” because of the many resident hawksbill and green turtles.

Air Wall is a beautiful soft coral wall that shines yellow-orange. Highlight is a coral block at 22m in which leaf fishes found their home, surrounded by shrimps, pipefish and thousands of glass fishes.

Coral Fan Garden & Basket Coral Garden gives you the feeling of being in an aquarium: schools of colored fishes.

Frogfish Point, a huge coral block from 5m - 18m welcomes you. There are a lot of sandy areas, where the garden eels let off steam and corals are overgrown with anemones and their clownfish.

Manta Point In the rainy season, this dive site gives you the best chance to see Manta rays. But even without mantas, you still have a good chance to see reef sharks and turtles.

Malang Reef Underwater canyons create the landscape here with a plateau starting at 10m and dropping down to 40m. Here you can see ‘everything’.
