Hidden Alor, 10 days Located between Flores and Sawoe Sea, Alor archipelago is one of Indonesia’s last frontiers. Alor and Pantar are the main islands and the strait between the two is a world class dive attraction. Alor is recognized as one of the best diving sites in Asia. Surround by clear water, the visibility can reach more than 40 meters, with a temperature of 28°C. With its volcanic origin, Alor offers a great variety of dive sites; some outstanding walls, rock slides, valleys, seamounts, pinnacles, and unspoiled coral reefs.Day 1 Flight Bali - Kupang - Alor, transfer to your accommodation. You can either stay at a homestay on a small exotic island or at a resort situated on a 400 m long white sandy beach on Pantar Island. Day 2 - 9 Diving (8 days, 16 dives). Day 10 Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kupang and Bali (sometimes you have to overnight in Kupang and fly the next day to Bali. About the dive sites Alor is a place for incredible surprises! Mola mola (sunfish), thresher shark, hammerhead shark, whale and marlin have been seen many times. Napoleons, giant trevally, reef shark, turtles, barracudas, eagle rays, giant grouper, and more are usual encounter. And that’s not all. These preserved reefs have a lot more to offer, from intact coral slopes and walls to scenic rock formation. Alor will enchant everyone. In south Pantar the water is generally colder, the reef coverage is mainly soft coral, fish life is amazing and an unbelievable variety of nudibranchs can be found. More north, the walls around Ternate offer beautiful underwater scenery, including caves and multiple overhangs. Divers are often gently drifting, surrounded by schools of fusilier, sergeant and tuna.
