East- and Central Flores on foot, 8 days
Flores is one of Indonesia's most unspoiled islands. It has beautiful beaches and mountainous inlands that are perfectly suitable for long treks. There are no less than 14 volcanoes on the island that are still active! During this trip you encounter a very tradional way of life. Of course we visit worldfamous Kelimutu volcano with its three colour lakes. After that you make a two day trek past traditional villages around Bajawa, where people still hold on to animist practices.Day 1 Maumere
Free afternoon at the beach.
Day 2 Maumere, climbing of volcano
Climbing of Mt Egon or optional other tours.
Day 3 Half day trek to Sikka, Moni
Walk along the coastline through several villages to Sikka. From here we drive on to Moni.
Day 4 Moni, walk Keli Muti
See the beautiful sunrise on Mt Kelimutu. Walk to Jopu past several traditional weavingvillages.
Day 5 Bajawa
Drive through a beautiful deep valley to Bajawa.
Day 6-7 Trek Bajawa
Two day trek through the beautiful countryside surrounding Bajawa. Overnight at home of local people.
Day 8
End of the trip.
