Hotels
Your accommodation will be in cosy tourist class hotels managed by local people. While the rooms are sometimes simple you are always provided with a private bathroom and toilet and, where necessary, air-conditioning or fan. A few hotels are located near the sea or have a swimming pool (this is noted in the program). Hotels are centrally located which means it is easy for you to explore the area by yourself. You may find that at times certain facilities in your room are (temporarily) out of order or missing and the local customs often differ from those of home. But the help and friendliness of the Indonesians largely compensate for this. In Indonesia single and double rooms are often similarly charged for. It is possible to rent a triple room, which in practice often means that you are given a double room with an extra mattress. The tour prices are based on staying in double rooms.

Local people
Sunda Trails possesses an elaborate local network. This is why we include overnight stays in local family homes in a number of our tours. This is often a great experience, but it demands a flexible attitude: you may spend the night with several people in a room and share the bathroom and toilet.

Separate hotel accommodation
For those who prefer to travel through Indonesia by themselves Sunda Trails can arrange hotel accommodation. Through our long travel experience in Indonesia we know of special hotels in many different places. This will save you time and energy. Look at heading 'hotels' for more information.

Villa's
For a touch of luxury during your trip Ulun Carik Villas provide an ideal location to relax and unwind. Situated near a quiet Balinese village, with a superb view over the rice fields these two luxurious villas offer you a comfortable atmosphere in which you can relax. Each villa sleeps 6 or combined sleeps 12. It is only a forty minute drive to either Kuta or Ubud and it takes thirty minutes to reach the restaurant and shopping area of Seminyak/Legian.
Each villa offers:
- 3 double rooms with air-conditioning and a private bathroom
- Lounge area with TV, DVD and CD-player
- Complete care by household staff, including cook;
- Swimming pool
- Relaxing space with view over rice fields
- Massage near the swimming pool on request
